My 2016 highlights

Wow, I can't quite believe that I'm already knee deep into 2017 weddings. It feels like the last year has flown by in a whirlwind of tulle, shimmer & sparkles! I've a few days until the next wedding, so I thought I would take the opportunity to have a little look back over 2016 & pick out a few moments to share with you, from all the amazing experiences I had. 2016 was my busiest year yet & definitely one of the most fun. I was certainly blessed to be so busy & to be booked by so many genuinely lovely clients. Thank you all for having me as your makeup artist, it was genuinely a pleasure & I wish every one of you a wonderful year ahead with your new families. Amanda x

My Fab People I've had such pleasure this year in working alongside some truly amazing & talented wedding suppliers. When you're working with others to help create someone's vision for their perfect day it's important to be able to work together seamlessly whether it's the first time you've met another supplier or your 100th wedding together. I've met some truly lovely & creative minds this year and will be adding them to my Fab People page on the site very soon (heads up...check out Merle & Morris & The Flower Arranger!). Also it's been fantastic to continue to work with suppliers such as Hair by Jennie, Lynnette Chasmer Hair, Kerrie Mitchell Photography & Nell'Amore Bridalwear, who in my opinion really do set the bar for industry standards & talent.

Sisterly Love On the 16th April I had an especially lovely morning getting Sam ready for her big day at The Metal Works in London. Sam had been a bridesmaid for her sister Stacie's wedding in September 2013, where I had also done the makeup and both girls were such a pleasure to work with. It was very special seeing how both of their lives had moved on in the 3 years (both girls had recently become Mums) and on both occasions the wedding mornings were full of giggles, love and (LOTS of) emotion...they were both so much fun my job didn't feel one bit like work. Then on the 8th July I was delighted to get Abi ready for her wedding day which was another love filled sisterly affair, as I had previously done her sister Vicky and her sister in law Sarah's makeup at their respective weddings in 2014 & 2015. The day felt like a wonderful, fun reunion and was such a compliment that the ladies would want me to come back each time. One of the most enjoyable parts of my job is witnessing so much love and energy on a wedding morning & I can hands down say that there's nothing like a gaggle of sisters (I'm sure not the correct term!) to make a wedding morning special!

Stunning bride Sam

The Biggest Compliment I can genuinely say the biggest compliment I've had during 2016 was being asked to work for a few fellow wedding suppliers (such as hairstylist Leonie below) on their own personal weddings. To be chosen amongst all the talented makeup artists they work with on a regular basis has been very flattering & made me feel very proud!

Incredible Venues I've had such a great time over the past 12 months working in some jaw-droppingly stunning venues. From the Dorchester, Park Lane Hilton & Zetter hotels in London to Essex's finest venues such as Channels, Crabbs Barn, High House, Houchins, Gaynes Park & Gosfield Hall (to name only a few). The highlight for me regarding venues though has been being listed as a recommended supplier for both Channels and Crabbs Barn. Both venues are very close to my heart (Channels quite literally given that I live at the bottom of the golf course!) and having worked very closely with the wedding coordinator teams at both venues it's genuinely an honour to be recommended by them both. I can't wait to be back at both venues very soon in 2017! The Rock The Frock Showcase I was very honoured to be asked to prep the models for the Rock the Frock showcase in October. The event was made thoroughly enjoyable by working alongside a fab team (big shout out to fellow MUA Claire, hairstylist Lisa Alger & of course Rock The Frock Boutique!). The dresses were stunning, the energy was high, the music was fab & it certainly seemed like the brides who attended had a wonderful did I! Photography with thanks to Chloe Lee Photography
